NAPERVILLE, IL -- A Lisle man faces felony charges after he gave a woman fake cash, stole her phone, and then gave police a fake name, cops say. Nelson Andrew Dones, 19, of the 4600 block of Sailboat Bay, had arranged to buy the phone online and implied that he had a gun when he met with the seller in person on Feb. 14, according to police.

Police say Dones and a woman who was selling her phone met in a parking lot near the intersection of Ridgeland and Naperville/Wheaton Road just after 11 p.m. to perform the sale. After receiving payment, the woman told police that she noticed one of the bills Dones gave her was counterfeit. Dones then "indicated" that he was armed with a gun before he fled with the phone, police say.

Dones was taken into custody on Feb. 19 and gave police a false name while he was arrested, detectives said. He was charged with felony robbery and forgery, along with obstructing identification.
