Lisle Police Identify Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train As Naperville Man
Train crew and witnesses at scene said it appeared that Naperville man jumped in front of Metra train in Monday incident.

The pedestrian struck by a Metra train near the Lisle Metra station on Monday has been identified as a Naperville man.
The man was identified as 41-year-old Jeffrey Marriott of Naperville, according to the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.
The Naperville man was struck by inbound train No. 1272 on Metra’s BNSF railway east of the Lisle Metra Station just past 4 p.m. on Monday.

Metra spokeswoman Meg Riele said the incident appeared to be an intentional act.
“Based on police reports and statements from the train crew and witnesses at the scene he jumped in front of the train,” Riele said.

Lisle police termed the incident on Monday evening as “an unfortunate incident of self- harm.”
