Magical Starlight Theatre to Present “Tarzan the Stage Musical”

Shows at Naperville Central High School Auditorium Jan. 11-13 and 18-20, 2019

Tickets are now on sale for Magical Starlight Theatre’s January 2019 production of “Tarzan: The Stage Musical.” Performances will be held at Naperville Central High School Auditorium on Jan. 11-13 and 18-20, 2019.

Based on the Disney movie, “Tarzan the Stage Musical” tells a story of adventure, family and love, featuring music and lyrics by Phil Collins. Magical Starlight Theatre’s creative costumes, lively dance numbers, and stage acrobatics make this a fun, entertaining show appealing to audiences of all ages.

“It’s fun that we get to do a musical that is not often performed by community theater groups,” said Kristin Irvin, who plays Jane in the production.

“‘Tarzan, the Stage Musical’ for us is a story of discovery,” explained Director Kris Visher. “Our cast members are discovering how to tell the story beyond the words on the scripted page. We are discovering how to draw our audience into Tarzan's heart of discovering who his family is and where he belongs. We are uplifted by family; we are accepted for who we are. The production is full of spectacle and fun and the unexpected. We encourage people to take time to discover this ‘new world’ on the coast of West Africa with all of the adventure that goes along with that.”

The cast of 43 talented community actors includes children and youth from grade 4 and up and adults of all ages. The emphasis on family runs through the culture at Magical Starlight Theatre, where entire families work together, both on stage and behind the scenes, to produce quality theater for the Naperville community and beyond.
