Anderson was also charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, child endangerment, and obstructing police.
Doctors at an Aurora Hospital contacted Aurora Police on Feb. 16 after Anderson brought the infant to the emergency room for a persistent fever and they noticed signs of abuse on the girl’s face and back, according to police.

During the investigation, police learned that Anderson allegedly grabbed the baby’s face and squeezed her cheeks, and put one of his hands over her mouth when she would not stop crying, police said. He also allegedly shook the baby in recent days, according to police, who said the baby girl’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police said the obstructing charge stems from Anderson allegedly lying about his identity during the investigation in an apparent attempt to avoid arrest on two active warrants. He was wanted on warrants for domestic battery out of DeKalb County and burglary out of Kane County.
Anderson is currently being held in lieu of bond at the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is assisting in the investigation.
