Man Asks Girls For Hug, Says He Is 'Spying On Them,' Cops Say
Police say the girls were "alarmed and disturbed" by the interaction.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly told two girls, ages 8 and 9, to "shut up" and that he was "spying on them." Owen M. Calkins, 67, of the Kildeer Drive, allegedly "alarmed and disturbed" the girls during the exchange, according to police.
During the incident, which reportedly took place in October, Calkins allegedly yelled at the girls. Police say he asked the girls to hug him and placed his hands to his eyes to mime binoculars before he told the girls he was "spying on them."
Police are asking anyone who has had "similar contact" with Calkins to call the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6726.
