Man Who Broke Into Ex's Home, Beat And Robbed New Boyfriend, Sentenced To Six Months

He broke into his ex's house and beat and robbed her new boyfriend, according to reports.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- A man who broke into his ex-girlfriend's Naperville home and beat and robbed her new boyfriend has been sentenced to six months in jail. The man also took compromising photographs of the couple, according to reports.

Jaskaran Singh, 37, of the 200 block of Sparrow Lane in Bolingbrook committed the assault on Dec. 9, 2015. He was initially charged with 12 counts: home invasion, trespassing, theft, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of weapons. The charges include misdemeanors and felonies.

Singh pleaded guilty to the felony charge of trespassing to a residence knowing one or more persons are present, according to the Naperville Sun. The sentence of 180 days, a fraction the mandatory six to 30 years for home invasion, was reached after prosecutors and the defense attorney struck a deal, according to court records.
