Men Smuggle 52 Pounds Of Weed Into Naperville By Train: Cops

Police say the men brought 52 pounds of weed and $230,000 cash from California on the Amtrak train.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police arrested a man in connection with a drug operation that brought 52 pounds of marijuana from California via Amtrak train Monday. Police also seized $230,000 cash in the incident.

David Gordon, 56, of Sacramento, California, was charged with one count of cannabis trafficking and one count of felony possession of cannabis over 5,000 grams.

Police say they had gotten a tip about "suspicious subjects" heading to Naperville from California by train. After the train got to the station at 2 p.m., Special Operations Group detectives and K-9 officers searched the suspects and found the drugs and cash.

Gordon is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $150,000 bond.
