MI Homes' Wheaton, Naperville Communities Give Buyers Access to Top DuPage County Schools

Buyers can choose from three new M/I Homes communities within sought-after DuPage County school districts.

As students settle back into the classroom this fall, buyers doing their homework on Chicago-area new-construction homes with access to top schools can choose from three new M/I Homes communities within sought-after DuPage County school districts: Northwoods of Wheaton and Woodlawn Place, both located in Wheaton; and Burlington Meadows located in Naperville.

“These three communities highlight everything buyers love about DuPage County, from terrific towns and beautiful surroundings to the excellent school districts found throughout the county,” said Ron Martin, region president of M/I Homes. “In fact, we’ve already had a very positive response since we started sales at all three communities over the summer. Buyers love these locations, as well as the mix of family-friendly floor plans we’re offering with features move-up buyers want such as island kitchens, lofts, dens, breakfast areas and mudroom entries. With the intimate size of these communities, we expect they will sell very quickly as they are discovered by buyers in search of a scenic DuPage County setting near well-regarded schools.”

Northwoods of Wheaton
Located south of Geneva Road just off Morse Street, Northwoods of Wheaton is an enclave of 11 single-family homes a short walk from North Wheaton High School, which is ranked in the top 40 Illinois high schools by U.S. News & World Report. The community is also served by Washington Elementary and Franklin Middle School within Community Unit School District 200.

“Northwoods of Wheaton is tucked into an established neighborhood just across the street from the North Wheaton High School campus, so buyers will love the convenience of living so close to the school as well as the energy that comes with sporting events and other school activities happening nearby,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes Bonk. “This community is also a unique opportunity for new construction in a sought-after part of town, where most of the housing stock is older homes.”

Three available two-story floor plans at Northwoods of Wheaton are base-priced from $568,990 to $633,990. Homes measure from 2,986 to 3,459 square feet and have three to five bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths and attached two- or three-car garages.

M/I Homes invites buyers to attend a grand opening celebration for a new model home at Northwoods of Wheaton on October 1 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The model showcases the 3,301-square-foot LeClaire floor plan, which features an open kitchen, family room and breakfast area, as well as a large loft. Woodlawn Place
Also located in Wheaton and served by Community Unit School District 200, Woodlawn Place is a community of 18 homes located south of Geneva Road on Woodlawn Street, just over a half mile from both North Wheaton High School and Carl Sandburg Elementary. Students in the community also attend Monroe Middle School, which was ranked 25th in a recent list of best public middle schools in Illinois.

“Even younger students can manage the short walk to school from Woodlawn Place,” said Bonk. “And even though this is a community of just 18 homes, buyer can choose from seven floor plans, including a ranch design, plus a variety of elevations that add to the curb appeal of the surrounding neighborhood.”

Available floor plans at Woodlawn Place measure from 2,197 to 3,880 square feet and have three to five bedrooms, 2 to 3½ baths and attached two- or three-car garages. Homes are base-priced from $539,990 to $664,990. Sales for Woodlawn Place will be conducted from the model home at Northwoods of Wheaton. Interested buyers are invited to a grand opening for the new Northwoods of Wheaton model on October 1 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. To RSVP or for more information, contact Nicole Skrocki, 630-605-8271 or nskrocki@mihomes.com.

Burlington Meadows
M/I Homes also offers 14 homes at Burlington Meadows, located in Naperville at Burlington Avenue and Naperville-Wheaton Road. Served by Community Unit School District 203, the community is a five-minute drive from Beebe Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Naperville North High School, which has regularly been included in U.S. News & World Report’s list of the state’s top high schools.
“Families with kids spanning several grades will spend less time shuttling to and from school, since Burlington Meadows is centrally located with the elementary, junior high and high school all within two miles,” said Bonk. “This community also gives buyers a quiet, tree-lined setting, with some lots located on a cul-de-sac and others backing up to wooded areas or wetlands.”

Seven available floor plans at Burlington Meadows, including two-story and ranch plans, measure from 2,197 to 4,315 square feet and have three to six bedrooms, 2 to 4½ baths and attached two- or three-car garages. Homes are base-priced from $579,990 - $695,990.

Homes at all M/I Homes communities come standard with the builder’s industry-leading 30-Year Transferable Structural Warranty, which not only allows buyers to purchase with confidence, but also adds value if the home is sold in the future. All homes are also WHOLE HOME Certified, an M/I Homes designation indicating the builder’s superior approach when constructing homes. Upon testing, an M/I home will receive a more favorable HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score than an Energy Star-certified home, which can save buyers upwards of 30 percent on their energy bills. A lower HERS Index means lower energy costs, and on average an M/I home achieves a HERS rating of 60, considerably lower than other builders in the market.
