Murdered UIC Student Was Naperville Central Grad: Report
District 203 released a statement saying they were "saddened" by Ruth George's "untimely passing."

NAPERVILLE, IL — The 19-year-old woman who was found strangled to death in a University of Illinois at Chicago parking garage was a Naperville Central High School graduate, according to ABC and other news sources. Ruth George, who was studying kinesiology at UIC, graduated from Naperville Central in 2018, according to NCTV.
In a statement, Naperville Community Unit School District 203 said they were "saddened to hear of the untimely passing of former student Ruth George." The school also offered its condolences to George's friends and family.
A man is in custody in the death of George. Police said surveillance footage shows Donald D. Thurman, 26, following George into the parking garage around 1:35 a.m. Saturday. He is seen on surveillance footage leaving the parking garage just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, Thurman was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Sunday and later confessed to George's murder.
