NAPERVILLE, IL -- A business hoping to get a new type of liquor license to sell booze-infused ice cream, milkshakes in Naperville, and more recently got a "no" recommendation from a city advisory committee. Only one advisory committee member gave Buzzed Bull Creamery a positive recommendation, Chicago Tribune reports.

Buzzed Bull Creamery, which has its flagship store in Cincinnati, specializes in crafting customized ice cream treats that are flash frozen from a flavor base, topped selection of goodies, and often given an extra kick with one or two ounces of alcohol.

Naperville doesn't currently have a liquor license class that exactly matches that type of concept. Commissioner Scott Wehrli told Chicago Tribune that the city's most restricted license, a tavern license, would be the most applicable for Buzzed Bull. Nonetheless, Wehrli hesitated, "I really think we are opening the door to a place I’m not ready to go to when it comes to the service of liquor beyond wine and beer."

Buzzed Bull Creamery also faced a challenge from the Downtown Naperville Alliance, which expressed concerns that other ice cream shops in the city would want to get into the act and apply for similar licenses.
