Naperville Coach Accused of Middle-School Molestation

A volunteer girls basketball coach is accused of “inappropriate sexual contact” with a 14-year-old girl she coached at Hill Middle School in Naperville, according to the DuPage County state’s attorney. Bail was set Friday at $100,000 for Shakyla Wilson, 22, who joined a group of girls from the middle-school team on a Feb. 20 movie outing and sleepover at a student’s home, according to a statement from the state’s attorney’s office.
Wilson, of the 700 block of Wildflower Circle in Naperville, could face seven years in prison if she’s convicted on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

“As a police officer and a parent, I’m deeply disturbed by the allegations in this case,” Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall said in the statement. “Ms. Wilson purposely put herself in a position of influence and trust in order to prey on the innocence of young girls.”
