Naperville Cops Give Out Over 75 Tickets During Holiday Crackdown
The tickets included seatbelt violations, speeding citations, and more.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police issued more than 75 tickets during a recent crackdown on seatbelt violations and impaired driving over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. The crackdown was part of the statewide Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns.
In a press release, police said they issued a total of 51 tickets safety belt violations and three for child safety seat violations. They also gave out 24 speeding tickets and seven tickets for distracted driving. Police say they also made one arrest for impaired driving during the crackdown.
In a statement, Naperville Police Sergeant Derek Zook said, "We can't stress this enough: Impaired and distracted driving are deadly, illegal behavior that puts everyone on the road at risk. The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign helps our law enforcement officers address this problem head on. Because of this special enforcement effort, our roads were safer for the holidays."
