Naperville Coronavirus Update: Weekly Positivity Rate Decreases

To date, there have been 38 coronavirus-related deaths in the city.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Naperville has increased by nearly 6 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).

As of Sept. 9, the city had reported 1,127 cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 1,191 as of Sept. 16. The previous week's increase was 11 percent.

To date, the city has had 38 coronavirus-related deaths, according to DCHD.

In nearby Lisle, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 4 percent. As of Sept. 9, there were 270 cases reported in Lisle. The number of cases reported in Lisle as of Sept. 9 was 281.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Lisle has been 8 since DCHD began tracking coronavirus statistics.

DuPage County recently reached a warning level for coronavirus transmission, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). IDPH reports that DuPage County reached the warning level due to an increase in weekly deaths and in cases per 100,000 people.
