Naperville Council Approves CityGate North
The entertainment venue, ice rink, and expo space is set to open in 2020.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville City Council took a huge step forward Tuesday when it approved the much-touted multi-million dollar CityGate North project. The highly anticipated complex will span 25 acres and include indoor ice rinks, an expo center, and entertainment spaces.
The $60.2 million CityGate North complex will neighbor the Monarch Landing retirement center, which led some council members to raise concerns about noise. Representatives from CityGate North say they plan to limit most parking to the opposite side of the complex, away from Monarch Landing.
They also plan to use natural landscaping — including a public garden path and a picnic area — to serve as a noise buffer. Calamos Real Estate SVP Ken Witkowski said in a media release, "We want to be an amenity to Naperville and for our neighbors residing at Monarch Landing."
