Naperville Firefighters Put Out Attic Fire On Baybrook Lane

NAPERVILLE, IL — Members of the Naperville Fire Department were able to extinguish a blaze that broke out in the attic of a home in the 1700 block of Baybrook Lane early Saturday. Fire officials said in a news release that two adults and two children safely got out of the home, which was determined to be uninhabitable after the fire.

One firefighter was injured in the blaze, Naperville Fire Department officials said.

Fire crews got to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. to find smoke coming from the chimney and the roof of the home. Once firefighters got into the attic, they say they found heavy flames consuming the attic walls.

The fire was put out within an hour after firefighters got to the scene.

Fire officials say there was a fire in the home's fireplace earlier in the evening. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
