Naperville Flag Change Campaign Narrowed Down to 5 Finalists

Vote now to determine the winner! Voting ends Aug. 31.

Back in February it was announced that a Naperville group was hoping to update the city’s flag. Now, after several submissions, the flag designs have been narrowed down to five, and it’s up to you to choose the winner.

All flags show a different graphic meant to represent Naperville. None of the proposed flags use the word “Naperville.”

The group says a "council of 34 local business, nonprofit, and education leaders, as well as world-renowned flag experts" determined the finalists.

While the group has been in contact with the city, it’s not officially on board yet.

“However, the Campaign is confident in the ability of city council to see public demands,” the website said.

The group also claims the city’s flag is not allowed to be flown anywhere but government building.

“We want a flag that flies proudly around the entire city and outside homes. A flag that businesses proudly incorporate within their logos. A flag that the people of Naperville can rally behind. A flag that represents our values. A flag that is ours,” the website said.

To vote for your favorite, visit the website. Voting is only open to residents of Naperville and closes at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31. One vote per person. The winner will be declared at TedxNaperville in November.
