Naperville Halts Parking Tickets During Coronavirus Shutdown

Mayor Steve Chirico signed an executive order Monday to halt parking tickets for most violations.

NAPERVILLE, IL — As financial pressure builds among residents during Governor J.B. Pritzker's new coronavirus stay-at-home order, Naperville city officials say they will stop issuing most parking tickets.

Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico signed the executive order Monday to put a stop to issuing parking tickets for violations related to:

  • Overnight parking
  • Time-limit parking
  • Commuter lot parking

According to an update from city officials, the change, effective until further notice, was put into place "in an effort to provide relief to residents, commuters and businesses during these unprecedented times."
