Naperville Makes Allstate's 'Best Drivers' List

Five Illinois towns were among 200 evaluated by the insurance company.

Five Illinois cities ranked in the top 200 on this year's list of America's Best Drivers. The Allstate insurance rankings reveal which towns are the least likely to have collisions. Joliet ranked highest among Illinois towns on the list, which also includes Rockford, Naperville, Aurora and Chicago.

The report took a look at claims data by Allstate-insured drivers in the country's 200 largest cites, including property damage claims submitted between January 2014 and December 2015. Kansas City came in at No. 1 on the list, while Boston ranked last.

44. Joliet moved up 11 spots from its 2016 ranking, with an average of 9.9 years between claims and 19.2 hard-breaking events per 1,000 miles.

49. Rockford moved up 8 spots after ranking 57 last year, with 9.8 average years between claims and about 16 hard-breaking events per 1,000 miles.

65. Naperville is up a whopping 24 spots on the list, with an average of 9.3 years between claims and 22.3 hard-breaking events per 1,000 miles.

84. Aurora fell one spot on the list compared with last year, with drivers averaging 8.9 years between claims and 24.4 hard-breaking events per 1,000 miles.

129. Chicago moved up for spots on the list and drivers there average 8.2 years between claims, plus 25.8 hard-breaking events per 1,000 miles.
