Naperville Man, 41, Dies After Car Crashes Into Tree

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man has died after his car hit a tree Sunday evening. According to police, Jason Schaus, 41, was driving westbound on 87th St. from Modaff Road when his car struck the tree in an apparent single-car crash.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene shortly after 7 p.m., police say. Schaus was rushed to Edward Hospital where he later died of injuries he suffered during the accident.

Police say 87th Street was closed between Modaff Road and Massachusettes Drive for more than three hours as the Naperville Traffic Unit and accident reconstruction teams investigated the scene.

According to police, the accident was reported as a single-car crash, but it is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Naperville Police at 630-420-8833.
