Naperville North Student First in World to Get Perfect AP Physics Exam Score
"I was pretty surprised. It's obviously not what I was expecting," Jason Xia said.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville North High School student Jason Xia wasn’t looking to get a perfect score on his AP physics 1 exam. In fact, he was only hoping to get enough right answers to get the maximum score of 5.
Well, he got that 5 and did so by answering all 80 questions correctly, making him the first person in the world get a perfect score on the test, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune, which noted that College Board's grading scale uses a 5-point system.
"I was pretty surprised. It's obviously not what I was expecting," he said in the article.

According to the report, 170,144 students took the exam, which was first offered by College Board in 2015.
Despite the incredible accomplishment, Jason, who took the test as a sophomore and is now a junior, hasn’t been quick to brag about it.

"I only told a few of my friends. Telling anyone else sounds kind of obnoxious," he said.
But he’s not the only Naperville student who's gotten a perfect score. 2016 Neuqua Valley High School grad Anne Botos was one of only 25 students to achieve a perfect score on the AP U.S. government and politics exam. 296,778 students took it.
Naperville North student Kelvin Li achieved perfection in the AP microeconomics exam, as did 74 other students.
