Naperville Park District 2020 Capital Projects Open House Aug 8

Community invited to comment on proposed projects

As part of its annual budget process, the Naperville Park District invites the public to comment on capital improvements proposed for 2020. A community open house will be held on Thursday, August 8 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Naperville Municipal Center located at 400 S. Eagle Street. The open house will take place immediately before the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

Everyone is welcome to attend the open house at any time during the 90-minute event; there will not be a formal presentation. However, please note that the following park meadow projects will be discussed from 5:30-6:30 p.m.:

  • Arrowhead Park, 711 Iroquois Avenue
  • Brighton Ridge Park, 775 Torrington Drive
  • Redfield Commons, 1324 Redfield Road
  • Springbrook Parkway, 2359 Nottingham Lane
  • Stanford Meadows, 1991 Stanford Drive
  • Wil-O-Way Commons, 1071 W. Jefferson Avenue
  • Brook Crossings, 1015 95th Street – Pond dredging
  • Clow Creek Greenway, 4588 Pradel Drive – Shoreline restoration
  • Summerfield Lake Park, 2003 Skylane Drive – Shoreline restoration

Additionally, the following pond improvement projects will be discussed from 6:30-7:00 p.m.:

The remaining 2020 capital projects involving park amenities including playgrounds and a basketball court will be available for discussion from 5:30-7:00 p.m.:

  • Brighton Ridge Park, 775 Torrington Drive – Playground renovation
  • Brush Hill Park, 203 N. Whispering Hills Road – Playground renovation
  • Frontier Sports Complex (east side), 3415 Book Road – Playground renovation
  • Walnut Ridge Park, 2304 Keim Road– Basketball court renovation

Additionally, presentation boards will be displayed featuring the following ongoing projects:

Park District staff will be on hand to answer questions about any of the above projects. Please note that detailed designs for the 2020 projects have not yet been developed; this is an opportunity for the community to provide input prior to the design phase. Those who are interested but unable to attend are invited to view the sites and descriptions online beginning August 9 at www.napervilleparks.org/planninganddevelopment and submit comments by August 19 to Director of Planning Eric Shutes at eshutes@napervilleparks.org.
