Naperville Park District Receives Awards at State Conference
Two commissioners awarded Distinctive Board Member status; Digital Program Guide wins first place in Agency Showcase competition
At the annual conference of the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) in Chicago on January 26-28, Naperville Park District received awards in two categories: Board Member Development and the annual Agency Showcase competition.
Park Board President Mary Gibson and Vice President Leslie Ruffing each received the Distinctive Board Member Award from IAPD for their achievements in the Board Member Development program. As stated on IAPD’s website, “The program gives recognition to local board members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty through committee involvement, attendance at continuing educational opportunities and achievements at the local, state and national levels.”
Naperville Park District’s Marketing and Communications Department brought home a first-place ribbon for the District’s digital Program Guide in the “Brochure Series – Virtual” category of the IPRA Agency Showcase. The Showcase is a professionally judged competition that recognizes Illinois agencies for their marketing and communication efforts ranging from print to multimedia.
