Naperville Police Chief Speaks Out On Police-Involved Shooting
Police Chief Robert Marshall said he was proud of how officers handled an "extremely stressful situation."

NAPERVILLE, IL -- Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall took to Facebook to share a video statement about a police-involved shooting that injured an armed man late Wednesday. After the shooting, which took place in the 1200 block of Ogden Avenue, the man was taken to a local hospital, where he was in serious, but stable condition.
In the statement, Marshall said he was "thankful no Naperville police personnel or innocent civilians were injured" during the incident. He added that he was "proud" of the officers' response to an "extremely stressful situation."
The incident is currently under investigation by the DuPage Major Crimes Task Force and State's Attorney's Office. Marshall said the Naperville Police Department is cooperating fully with the investigation. He acknowledged that there may still be questions about the shooting, but that no additional details were available at press time.
