Naperville Police To Host Youth Academy Series

NAPERVILLE, IL -- The Naperville Police Department is hosting a Youth Academy for Naperville 8th grade graduates. The program will give kids a working knowledge of the Naperville Police Department, according to the department's Facebook post promoting the event.
Every Thursday from June 8 to July 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., police will host a series of classes, discussions and hands-on demonstrations for students. The topics will cover police patrol operations, police canines, investigations, operations of the special response team, forensics and much more. Kids will be able to develop an in-depth view of the workings of law enforcement in their community.
Kids who want to register must: reside, or attend school, in Naperville; have parental permission; have transportation to and from the police department; be in good standing with no criminal contacts.
