Naperville Public Safety Open House, Oct. 14
Guests will see how the fire department pulls people from cars and how a K9 unit attacks criminals.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Police and Fire Departments are hosting their Public Safety Open House on Saturday, Oct. 14 starting at 10 a.m. The event features demonstrations of all sorts of police and fire methods, showing the town what they do and how they do it.
They'll be showing residents flash-over fire, taser, auto extrication and K9 methods, as well as displaying fire and police vehicles and equipment. It'll also feature visits by Sparky and McGruff.
"This event has something for everyone!" the Naperville Police Department posted on their Facebook page. "This must-see, all-ages event has been a community favorite for years!"

Guests will be invited to register for the Fire Department's Stop, Drop and Run 5K, which starts at 8:30 a.m. before the event. Food trucks will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
