Naperville To Review Baseline Concept For 5th Avenue Project

The city has decided to move forward with exploring a baseline concept for the busy corridor.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The ongoing discussion surrounding Naperville's 5th Avenue Project will move forward with a series of meetings to discuss a baseline concept. The decision to further explore a baseline concept, which will be finalized by Ryan Companies, was made at a July 15 meeting regarding next steps in the 5th Avenue Project.

City officials say the baseline concept will involve digging deeper into such issues as:

  • Revenue and costs
  • Infrastructure
  • Train station access and parking

Representatives from Ryan Companies will collaborate with designers and engineers using information from these metrics, along with input from stakeholders and organizations that will be affected by the 5th Avenue Project.

Completing the steps to finalize the baseline concept is expected to take "several weeks," according to a news release. Once it's ready, residents can provide review the concept and provide input at the following meetings:

  • Sept. 19: Baseline Concept Presentation in City Council Chambers at 6 p.m.
  • Sept. 23: Steering Committee meeting to discuss concept and feedback
  • Oct. 1: City Council reviews baseline concept

Once the baseline concept is reviewed, City Council will move forward with the next steps in the 5th Avenue Project.
