Naperville Schools Place in State's Top 50: News Rankings 2016

U.S. News and World Report released the list this week.

Three Naperville schools made the top 50 Illinois high schools in the annual U.S. News and World Report Best High School rankings.


Neuqua Valley High School ranked 34th, Naperville Central High School came in at 38th and Naperville North High School placed 40th on the list released April 18. Nationally, the schools placed at 896, 997 and 1006, respectively.

Compared to last year, Neuqua Valley dropped from 27th, Naperville Central remained in the same place and Naperville North rose one spot to 40th.

In Aurora, two schools made the list.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.

In the state, Northside College Preparatory High School came in first, The No. 1 high school in the U.S. rankings is the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas.
