Naperville To Talk New Comprehensive Master Plan On Dec. 9
The Dec. 9 meeting will debut the city's new comprehensive master plan and get feedback from residents.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville is ready to debut a draft for its new comprehensive master plan. The city will unveil the updated master plan at a Dec. 9 meeting, and residents are welcome to attend and give their feedback.
Naperville's new comprehensive master plan, designed by consulting firm Houseal Lavigne Associates, aims to be more streamlined and "user-friendly" than previous plans, according to an update on the city's website. One main objective of the new plan will be to designate land use throughout Naperville's geographic planning area.
The areas to be considered for land use include:

- Property north of I-88 and south of I-88 to Diehl Road and west of Route 59 to the Naperville's western boundary
- Sites along the Tollway Corridor, including BP, the former DuPage County transportation property and Nokia property
- Sites along East Ogden Avenue, including Ogden Mall, Iroquois Center, Fair Oaks Ford and Regency Hotel
- North downtown, including Washington Street corridor
- Area reserved for StarLine station at 91st Street and 248th Avenue
- "South 20" property (southeast corner of 103rd and Route 59)
- Spring Avenue, from Mill Street to its western end
- Northwest corner of Naper Boulevard and Plank Road to Ogden Avenue
- Area near the intersection of 75th Street and Wehrli Road
- Southeast corner of Mill Street and Bauer Road
The city also plans to use the comprehensive master plan to tackle the ongoing issue of housing affordability, revive its lagging commercial areas and incorporate sustainability and technology into its future designs.
