Naperville Teen Wins Scholarship For Driving Safety Video

The winning video will be played at local movie theaters in 2019.

NAPERVILLE, IL --- A Neuqua Valley High School senior has won a scholarship for her entry in a contest for videos that promote awareness about distracted driving. Megan Kosak's winning video will be shown in local theaters during winter break and she will receive a $750 scholarship for winning the contest.

Kosak's video confronts two major driving distractions that teens face: their friends and cellphones. In a press release, she said she hopes that "being able to have the video shown in Naperville can help spread even more awareness with people directly in [the] community."

Kosak used her experience taking media and video classes at Neuqua Valley while writing and producing her video. She thanked the school's media department for the training she's received since she was a freshman.
