Naperville Unsure When To Pose Cannabis Referendum Question

The dust has settled after Naperville decided to opt out. Now, the city must decide when to hold a referendum.

NAPERVILLE, IL — After hours-long debates and council meetings, Naperville may have decided whether or not to opt in to recreational cannabis sales, but the city is still at odds as to when to hold a referendum on the matter. Some council members and residents want the referendum question posed on the March 2020 mid-term election ballot, while others are content with waiting until the general election in November 2020, Daily Herald reports.

The city plans to discuss how to word and when to pose the referendum question at the Oct. 15 city council meeting.
