Naperville Wants Opinions On New LED Streetlights
Naperville is entering phase three of its streetlight replacement project, and wants your input on some new LED lights.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- The City of Naperville is looking for the public's input on an LED pilot program. The upgrade includes 11,000 total street light upgrades, and is coming out in three phases.
Phase One of the project, which ended in April 2015, included replacing 1,623 arterial lights. Phase Two, which ended in January 2016, resulted in the replacement of 7,331 residential street lights.
Phase Three will see the replacement of 2,843 "decorative and location-specific streetlight fixtures" throughout Naperville, according to a press release from the City of Naperville, They'll include streetlights in the Central Business District, the Historic District, business districts, public parking lots and almost 70 neighborhoods.

This is where Naperville residents come in. The city has installed four LED fixtures at three test sites throughout the city at these locations:
- Location 1: Jefferson Avenue (south side) between Main Street and Washington Street
- Location 2: Chicago Avenue (south side) between Brainard Street and Sleight Street
- Location 3: Brainard Street north off Ogden Avenue
The lights have been numbered for easy identification.

City officials want residents' input on the LED lights. City staff will analyze their performance. Officials will accept public opinions on the lights until the end of the day on Sunday, Aug. 6. Visit the Naperville Website's LED opinion page to share your thoughts.
