Naperville YMCA Hosts Senior Star at Weber Place Dementia Expert
Free presentation provides insightful knowledge for older adults and family caregivers.

Senior Star at Weber Place is hosting a free public presentation on memory loss vs. Alzheimer’s from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Kroehler YMCA, 34 S. Washington St., Naperville.
Led by dementia expert Anna Walters, RN and health services director at Senior Star, the program will include an overview of dementia and Alzheimer’s vs. normal memory loss, and will touch upon causes, symptoms, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
With an extensive background in the field of geriatrics, and as a daughter who lost her father to Alzheimer’s, Walters continues to tap into her vast experience to educate and support senior adults and their families in aging well. Her speaker programs have gained popularity in the last year as public education requests have included a greater focus on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Walters has also been used as a key media resource, noting her respected knowledge regarding patient impact and the importance of creating empathy through caregiver education. In addition to being featured on WGN’s Medical Watch as well as their national Alzheimer’s special, she is regularly used as a resource on aging in other media outlets.
