Nor'easter Prevents Patton Oswalt From Making Naperville Event

The actor says customers will get refunds or the event will be rescheduled and tickets will be honored in the future.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Comedian Patton Oswalt is not happy about the nor'easter that threatens to tear through the East Coast. The dangerous weather grounded Oswalt in Boston, forcing him to call off his talk at Community Christian Church in Naperville Friday.

Oswalt was scheduled to discuss his late wife Michelle McNamara's book, "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" with author Gillian Flynn at the event, which was sponsored by Anderson's Bookshops.

McNamara's true crime book about the so-called Golden State Killer consumed much of her time and energy leading up to her untimely death. Oswalt has said she would stay up for hours researching and writing in an attempt to crack the case.

Oswalt announced the show cancellation on Twitter Friday morning, saying he planned to reschedule the show for a larger venue later in the month. He followed this up with a Tweet saying that refunds will be issued in the event that show is not rescheduled.

The violent nor'easter threatens to pummel New Jersey hardest, with blizzard-like conditions, up to three inches of rain, and heavy winds expected on Friday.
