North Central to Celebrate $10M Capital Grant for Parking Pavilion

WHAT: North Central College’s plans to increase on-campus parking capacity through the construction of a new parking pavilion have been bolstered by a $10 million capital grant from the State of Illinois. The funding was allocated to the College through the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) as part of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s $45 billion Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan that was signed into law in 2019. The bipartisan plan aims to create jobs and improve communities through historic investments in infrastructure and education.

The College will host a groundbreaking event on July 26 at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate construction of the parking pavilion. The event will take place in the New Hall Parking Lot (451 S. Brainard St., Naperville). A reception will follow, and members of the public are invited to attend.

Event parking will be available for the public in the Highland Avenue Parking Lot, located at the southeast corner of Brainard Street and Highland Ave. Media parking will be available in Lot L, located at the south entrance to New Hall, 451 S. Brainard St. North Central College Campus Safety Officers will be stationed near the event to help direct traffic accordingly.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 26 at 2:30 p.m.

Members of the media interested in covering the event are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the program at 2 p.m., which is slated to begin promptly at 2:30 p.m.
