A loving and devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who also loved animals and enjoyed the companionship of her cats over the years.

Barbara Lynn Booklund, age 74, of Rockdale, passed away at home, Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Born June 2, 1951 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Harold T. and Helen B. (Wilmette) Booklund. She was a graduate of St. Patrick Grade School and Providence Catholic High School.
Barb was employed in numerous capacities over the years for the former Joliet Federal Bank, Western & Southern Insurance, and Hartford Insurance. Her last employment was with St. Joseph Hospital where she enjoyed serving as a switchboard operator until her retirement.

A loving and devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Barb loved keeping in contact with her family and friends in person and through Facebook. She loved animals and enjoyed the companionship of her cats over the years. She was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed reality TV shows.
Surviving are her sister, Kathryn “Kay” (the late James) Dickinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her dear friends, Jeannie Ruppe, Nola Lara, and Cindy Barrowman.
She was preceded by her parents; brother, James Booklund; and sisters, Patricia Bailey, Sharon Muren, Janet Donnelly, Judith Booklund, and Suellyn Booklund.
Visitation for Barbara Booklund will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m., until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Family and friends are invited to meet Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, for the burial.
