Mary Claire Haraf, age 54, late of Naperville, and formerly of Bridgeview, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 17, 2023 at home.

Born October 1, 1968 in Oak Lawn, she was the daughter of the late Chester G. and Carol Ann (Padorke) Haraf, and was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School in Burbank.
Mary Claire, named in honor of both her grandmothers, enjoyed her career working as a credit analyst for McMaster-Carr. She was an avid reader and took great pride in reading at least 200 books every year. To know her well was to benefit from her generous and giving spirit, and she will be long remembered for the endearing and loving relationships she had with her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her two beloved brothers and their wives, James and Janet Haraf of Plainfield, IL and Charles and Keli Haraf of Montgomery, TX; her adoring nieces and nephews, Joshua (Courtney) Haraf, Christopher (Ashley) Haraf, Adam Haraf, Kyle (fiancé Vanessa) Haraf, Samantha “Sam” Haraf, Sara (Tyler) Kent and Jessica Scott; four dear great-nephews, Wesley Haraf, Duke Haraf, Landon Kent and Logan Scott; and her dearest friends, Kathleen and Randy Albrecht.
A Memorial Gathering for Mary Claire will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 1:00 p.m., until the time of a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
