Parkland Survivors Plan Town Hall In Naperville

Survivors of the Feb. 14 shooting will speak in Naperville on June 16.

NAPERVILLE, IL --- It's been nearly four months since 17 students and staff were killed in a horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, but the survivors of that shooting are not done speaking out. A group of Parkland students who survived the shooting will speak at a town hall about gun violence set for June 16 in Naperville.

The event, which will be held at the DuPage Universalist Unitarian Church at 6 p.m., is part of a nationwide movement spearheaded by Parkland students. The survivors are traveling from state to state to raise awareness of gun violence in the hopes of enacting change.

The town hall at DuPage UU Church will be the second official stop on the March for Our Lives student activists' nationwide Road to Change movement. The movement's mission is clearly stated on its website: "We must make it our top priority to save these lives."
