Rabid Bat Found in Naperville Home
If you find a bat in your home or business, do not touch it.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A bat found in a home in the 1600 block of Brookdale Rd. has tested positive for rabies. The bat was found Aug. 19.
Typically less than 5 percent of bats test positive for rabies, according to the Illinois Department of Health. Less than 1 percent of the entire bat population tests positive.
If you find a bat in your home or business, do not touch it. Contact the Naperville Animal Care & Control at 630-420-6178 or the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-666. If you can, close the door to the room the bat’s in and wait for an officer.
