The bat was taken out of the home on Wednesday.

NAPERVILLE, IL --- Naperville homeowners are on high alert after residents found a rabid bat inside of their home Wednesday. The animal, identified as a little brown bat, was found in a house on Salt River Ct., according to Daily Herald.

Wild animal experts removed the bat and sent samples to a local lab to test the mammal for rabies. On Friday, the test results came back positive.

Experts advise homeowners not to attempt to touch, catch, or trap a bat if you find one on your home or on your property. Call a local animal control expert or the Naperville Police animal control department as soon as possible.
