Residents Evacuated Safely After Fire In Naperville Apartment

NAPERVILLE, IL — Several residents were evacuated from an apartment building in Naperville after a fire broke out Sunday night.

Firefighters arrived at the scene in the 1500 block of Country Lakes Drive around 9:20 p.m. after a fire alarm was activated. Upon arrival, fire crews reported that they did not see smoke or flames coming from the exterior of the two-story building.

After entering the building, firefighters, found a fire in the kitchen of an apartment on the building's first floor. The blaze was contained within 20 minutes, according to a news release.

No one was hurt in the fire, which rendered the apartment uninhabitable. The total damages were estimated at $50,000.
