Salt Cave Spa Owner Takes Money for Treatments, Then Closes Naperville Store
Children with cystic fibrosis were planning to use the salt cave to help with their disease.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A few families whose children suffer from cystic fibrosis are out hundreds of dollars after paying for the use of a salt cave room at a Naperville spa, which then suddenly closed its doors.
7-year-old Kylie East suffers from cystic fibrosis and some patients are helped by salty environments, according to a report from CBS Chicago. Timeless Spa has a salt cave filled with Himalayan salt. East’s mom, Kerry, thought the room might be beneficial for daughter. She pre-purchased treatments, but then never got to use them.

“The last special, I invested $200,” Kerry said in the article. “I was mad knowing that we had just purchased these, and now we can’t use them.”
The owner of Timeless Spa, Jody Buckle, closed her doors three weeks ago, but according to court records obtained by CBS Chicago, she was “still selling treatments even after the building owner had started eviction proceedings to kick her out,” which began after a series of bounced checks.

However, Buckle said it wasn’t her intention to cheat anyone and will provide refunds or double the number of spa treatments when she opens a new shop in Woodridge. A salt cave won’t be installed until the spring.
