Neuqua Valley Bomb Threat: Police Say No Explosives Found
Police say six canines searched the school and no explosives were located.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A bomb threat made that was made against Neuqua Valley High School and led to an evacuation at the campus on Tuesday has been investigated and apparently proven to be false, according to Naperville Police. The threat was made online Tuesday just before noon, according to Naperville Police Department Deputy Chief Jason Arres.
In a news release at 3:15 p.m., police said bomb-sniffing dogs, U.S. Marshals, and law enforcement had completed a search of the school's main campus and freshman campus and that no weapons or explosives were located.
Arres told Patch that six bomb-sniffing canines were deployed to the school to assist in determining the credibility of the threat. The U.S. Marshal's Office, Illinois State Police, and law enforcement from Kane County and DuPage County were assisting in the search.

The school was evacuated around noon after police informed school officials of the potential threat.
"We have decided to evacuate the school while they investigate the situation," the school said in an email to parents. "Please know that all of our students and staff are safe."

School was dismissed at noon to allow police to search the campus. The message to parents did not specify the nature of the threat.
"Students who take the bus will arrive home on buses that are at school early," the school said. "Our STEPS students and students who are in our special education self-contained classroom are being taken to Welch Elementary School where they will remain until regular dismissal at 2:30 or a parent can arrive at Welch to take them."
All extracurricular activities were canceled for Tuesday.
Authorities are still investigating the source of the bomb threat. Anyone with information is urged to call the Naperville Police Department's investigative division at 630-420-6666.
