Self-Defense Class Teaches Women About Safety In Naperville

Women can learn how to evade attack and defend themselves from attackers.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police are offering a special self-defense class for women as part of October's "A Safer Naper" campaign. Police officials are teaming up with One Light Self Defense on Oct. 9 at Safety Town to help women gain the skills they need to help avoid and fend off potential attackers.

Participants will learn techniques to avoid becoming the victim of an attack, along with skills to protect and defend themselves. Women will learn how to get out of specific chokeholds and other types of restraint, including hair pulling.
