On October 16 Naperville Park District received a delivery of more than 360 bluegills for the pond at Springbrook Crossings, located at 1211 Leverenz Road. Keystone Hatcheries, a local supplier, brought the fish.

“The pond at Springbrook Crossings is deep enough to provide good habitat for the fish,” said Tim Quigley, south parks operations manager.

The Naperville Park District stocks a few of its fishing ponds on a rotating schedule, usually stocking one or two each year. Earlier in 2019 the pond at Ashbury Park at 1740 Conan Doyle Road also was stocked.

Residents may fish along the shoreline of ponds and streams in the parks, but need to obtain a fishing license from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
