Students at Chesterbrook Academy® Elementary School in Naperville Raise Nearly $1,500 for Charities

Each grade completed a different business project with proceeds benefitting various local and national organizations

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Naperville raised nearly $1,500 for local and national charities during December and January. Each grade completed a different business project and donated proceeds to an organization of the students’ choice.

Chesterbrook Academy’s kindergarten and third grade classes raised more than $500 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) near Central DuPage Hospital by selling popcorn and lucky superhero cape cards. The two classes visited RMH together to deliver their donation and tour the facility. The first grade class raised more than $340 for Heifer International and World Vision by engineering and selling scented and colored play dough. The money was used to purchase school supplies, soccer balls, a beehive and an irrigation pump for a community in need. The second grade and fifth grade classes raised more than $600 for the Naperville Area Humane Society. Second graders made and sold nearly 280 flower and feather pens, delivered the proceeds to the organization and toured its facility, where they learned how the money they collected will help the animals. Fifth graders raised money for the Humane Society by creating and selling a unique dog treat.
