Summer Place Season Named Official State Bicentennial Project
Community theatre's 52nd season celebrates with a line-up of Illinois-related productions

The Summer Place,, Naperville’s Community Theatre since 1966, is proud to announce that the Illinois State Bicentennial Commission has named this, their 52nd season, as an official Bicentennial Project. Each Summer Place production this year has ties to the state, especially the Spring Musical Revue which is an original creation with words and music specific to Illinois. As an official Bicentennial Project, Summer Place has a listing on the state’s website and inclusion in its announcements and programs.
"By Thy Rivers Gently Flowing" is original musical revue written by Cynthia Lauren-Grant. The show's title refers to the state song and celebrates Illinois' origins, its role in the wars, the underground railroad, Presidents from the state and more through songs and narration by a dozen talented community members.
