The Naperville Noon Lions Club completed its Annual Summer Raffle with drawing of the winning tickets at its luncheon meeting on September 5th. Liz Spencer, Executive Director, of NCTV-17 was on hand to draw the winning tickets. This year's grand prize winner of $5,000 was Family Shelter Services. The winning ticket was purchased by and a gift to Family Shelter Services by Dr. William Bleecker of Naperville. Other prizes in the raffle were 2,000, $1,000, $500 and four $100. Congratulations to all the winners.
Lion Ken Strugalla, Raffle Chairman, said this year's event was another hugh success thanks to all the individuals who purchased raffle tickets. Overall, we were able to sell over 4,300 tickets and raise $23,623, he said. All of the net proceeds from the raffle will be used to support the Naperville Lions programs which include providing eye examinations, eye glasses, and hearing examinations to students within School Districts 203 and 204 and many other children and adults all of whom would not otherwise have the financial ability to have these services. During the Club's last fiscal year, approximately 350 individuals in the Naperville area received these services at a cost to the Club of over $114,000.
The Naperville Noon Lions Club, which was organized in 1948, is a member Club of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service organization, with over 1.4 million members and over 44,000 member clubs worldwide.
