Threats Of Gun Violence In Naperville School Lead To Arrest

"Threats of violence will absolutely not be tolerated in our community, especially in our schools," the Naperville Police Chief said.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A teen is in custody after he allegedly made an online threat of gun violence against a Naperville High School and a faculty member. Samuel Rogers, 18, of the 2600 block of Bangert Court, Naperville, was charged with felony disorderly conduct for the alleged threats against Nequa Valley High School.

Police say Rogers was taken into custody just before midnight Sunday after an investigation of the online threats led police to him.

After the arrest, Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall stressed the importance of taking threats of school violence seriously. ""Threats of violence will absolutely not be tolerated in our community, especially in our schools, where students' main concern should be their education, not their safety," Marshall said.
