Like the Computer game The Trail to Oregon? Watch the game come to life on stage in this interactive musical comedy

Neuqua Valley High School’s Winter Black Box Production, “The Trail to Oregon” is a small musical, set loosely in the 1840s along the Oregon Trail. From the start, our fated family encounters every possible misfortune. When Father accidentally burns their farm down, he is joined on the “Trail to Oregon,” by his precocious daughter who just wants to find love on the trail, son who tends to put everything in his mouth, father-in-law who was exiled by lobsters as a young man, and of course his sarcastically loving wife who just wants everyone to survive this ordeal. Throw that family together with an ox that is practically dead, a rickety wagon, and a bandit king out to steal himself a bride, and this family will make light of their problems through song and dance as they try to reach their final destination.
Of note, the production is definitely based on the well-known 90s era elementary school computer game. However, it is NOT recommended for elementary school children as there is some mature content and language. The performance is ideal for an uproarious and participatory PG-13 audience, and character names will be selected by audience suggestion at the beginning of each show. Tickets at www.nvhstheatre.com or CASH at the door. Dec 6- Dec 8 at 7 PM with a matinee at 3 on Sat Dec 8 Door 10 Black Box theatre at NVHS
