Volunteer Coach Gets Probation for Fondling Student
The 23-year-old Naperville woman allegedly fondled the student during a sleepover.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A former volunteer girls basketball coach at Hill Middle School in Naperville received two years of sex offender probation for allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old student.
Shakyla Wilson, 23, of the 700 block of Wildflower Circle, was originally charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and faced up to seven years in prison, according to a report from the Daily Herald.
A closed-door meeting between the judge, prosecutors and defense attorneys knocked the charge down to attempted criminal sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.

Wilson must also undergo sex offender counseling and do 15 days of the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program.
Wilson allegedly fondled the 14-year-old basketball player during a sleepover Feb. 20, 2015, according to the Chicago Tribune. She had gone to the movies that night with several other members of the team and then attended a sleepover.
